Good Riddance to 2020 and Happy New Year to an Eventful 2021 Arnold Year!

Boy, did 2020 "suck wienie or what?” Who would have ever imagined a day when gyms would close and we couldn’t greet our fellow Arnold fans with a Predator-style man-shake? With the worldwide pandemic there was a major cut-back on the production of motion pictures, no Arnold Comic Con signings, no Arnold Sports Festivals, no this and no that!  At least 2020 was a good opportunity for Arnold to take advantage of getting his needed heart surgery to get an all new aortic valve. No that Arnold has fully recovered, he’s ready to kick off 2021 with a healthy and pumped up new year!

Here’s a list I put together of all the cool Schwarzenegger projects and events we have to look forward to in 2021.

• Filming begins on Arnold's untitled Netflix spy thriller series by Skydance Television! Monica Barbaro has been cast to play Arnold’s character’s daughter in this Netflix series.

• “Stan Lee’s Superhero Kindergarten” gets released with Arnold in the starring role. Although this is targeted for very young viewers, it’s very nice to know we can watch this with our children as Arnold becomes a part of an all new generation of young fans. Superhero Kindergarten will air in 2021 on Amazon Prime.

• Schwarzenegger joins NBA star LeBron James in the new tequila and mezcal brand, Lobos 1707. Perhaps if we are lucky we will see Arnold in TV spots as he’s endorsing this new tequila product. Maybe Arnold will also do a Lobos 1707 tasting night with the fans.

• The Arnold Sports Festival and Arnold Classic Bodybuilding events will be back as long as all pandemics are terminated. Worst case we can watch the fitness and sports events streaming from our home.

• Comic Con signings. Arnold has said he wants to do more Comic Con signings and photos with his fans. Comic Cons are known for fans wearing masks but let’s hope later this year we can be mask free! However, we do strongly encourage Schwarzenegger cosplay!

• The 30th Anniversary of Terminator 2!  I’m sure there will be some big surprise announcements, events, new merchandise and cast reflections on one of the greatest sc-fi films of all time!

• 25th Anniversary of Jingle all the Way!  2021 will mark the 25th Anniversary of the greatest superhero Christmas film! Hmmm, maybe it’s the only superhero Christmas film which is just another reason to love this rising cult classic. Jingle all the Way and The Nightmare Before Christmas both underperformed in the box office upon their original release but over the years, appreciation and fandom for these films grew immensely!

• Miracle on 1st Street. Every year, Arnold and his friends pass out toys to kids and families who can’t afford Christmas gifts. 2021 will mark the 40th anniversary of Miracle on 1st Street so the Hollenbeck Youth Center will go especially big this year with their event.

• Twins 2: Triplets! Will 2021 be the big year? The final script is days away from being finished and Arnold, Devito and Eddie Murphy are all ready to go.

• Conan!  I know, I know; you’ll believe it when you see it! But knowing that there is a live action Conan series coming to Netflix, we can certainly continue to have hopes that Arnold might be the narrator of the series. If a young Conan actor is cast then maybe if we’re REALLY lucky, Arnold can star as the older Conan with episodes toggling back and fourth between Conan’s youth and old age. It’s a stretch but I’ll continue to pray to Crom for that final Conan chapter we’ve all been longing for.

That’s ONLY the projects we are aware of for now but knowing Arnold, we are sure he has A LOT more up his sleeve and It will be exciting as always to hear of him announce the latest news!  So “talk to the hand” 2020 as we say "Hasta la vista" to a crappy year and hello to a bright future! Now enjoy watching Arnold and Danny Devito tease us all at a new Twins sequel. Perhaps “Twins 2: Triplets” will be announced officially any day now? Bring it on, 2021!
