"In Search of the Last Action Heroes” Is a Must-Own Documentary!

Get ready to save a spot in your Schwarzenegger shrine of Blu-rays because you’re collection will NOT be complete without this fantastic upcoming documentary, "In Search of the Last Action Heroes”. Locked and loaded with nostalgia, ‘80s synth music, exclusive interviews (many for Arnold fans), and visits to iconic filming locations, "In Search of the Last Action Heroes" will be the most comprehensive retrospective of the action film genre that defined our childhood. Join popular YouTuber and ‘80s/’90s cinema expert Oliver Harper as he takes us back in time for the ultimate behind-the-scenes look at the most testosterone-fuelled era in cinema. Oliver will explore the stories behind the genre, speaking to the actors, writers, directors, producers and composers who helped influence and shape the films we grew up with. "In Search of the Last Action Heroes" will explore the story behind the ‘80s action movie genre, examining how studios were able to turn outrageous concepts into genre-defining tropes, and how the one-man-army sub-genre produced the superstars of the era.

While Arnold has not yet decided to attach himself to this project, he will be asked to join in the upcoming weeks of post production. Producer of the documentary film, Timon Singh, gives TheArnoldFans an exclusive statement on this project and as you can read, it sounds like Arnold bliss.

"The 80s was the time of the action star. Schwarzenegger, Stallone and Willis were the biggest stars in the world and their films (for the most part) smashed box office records. Just putting their name on a movie poster was almost a guarantee of a hit. It was a time where good guys were good, bad guys were bad and guns never, ever ran out of ammo.

Arguably, the biggest star of the decade was Arnold Schwarzenegger and in the upcoming documentary In Search of the Last Action Heroes, the film will look at the circumstances, social and political, that led to the Austrian body builder becoming a global icon and the impact in had on the film industry forever.

For the documentary, action film fans Oliver Harper, famed for his Action Film Retrospectives & Reviews on YouTube, and Timon Singh, author of Born To Be Bad: Talking to the greatest villains in action cinema, have traveled around the world interviewing the actors, screenwriters, directors and composers behind the greatest action films ever made.

Already interviewed for the documentary include a number of Schwarzenegger's peers including Michael Biehn (Terminator), Mark L. Lester (director of Commando), Vernon Wells (Commando), Ronny Cox (Total Recall), Jenetter Goldstein (Terminator 2: Judgement Day), Steven E. DeSouza (screenwriter of The Running Man and Commando), Mark Goldblatt (editor of The Terminator), Brad Fiedel (composer of The Terminator, T2 and True Lies) and Bill Duke (Commando, Predator)... to name but a few!"
