Over the past few days, we met some fantastic bodybuilders and heroes of the fitness world. We just returned form the Arnold Sports Festival, the three-day-long muscle, fitness and sporting championship event held in Columbus, Ohio. Arnold Schwarzenegger attends many events but our favorite time is when we get to hear what new projects he has coming soon. Arnold brought up a few projects including one we didn’t know of yet which sounds almost like a "Pumping Iron” sequel.
“I'm working on a Documentary right now that Netflix is doing,” says Arnold. "It’s a three-parter about my bodybuilding life being the first part, then my show business career - that’s the second part and the political career is the third part. They are shooting that now and it will come out this year because this year is my 75th birthday."
Speaking of Netflix, Schwarzenegger told us that his F.U.B.A.R. project started on Sunday the 6th with his wardrobe fitting and other pre-production issues.
"I have to leave to go to Toronto because that is where we are going to shoot our series F.U.B.A.R. for Netflix,” begins Arnold. “We start shooting end of April so I thought since I am so close (here in Ohio), I go up there to check the hotels, the gyms, do the wardrobe fitting, make up and stuff and all those kinds of stuff that you normally have to do ahead of time. I'll do that today so that’s why we are leaving here right after this we go up to Toronto, then we go back to Los Angeles after 6 hours of working up there."
Some sources call the project UTAP and others call it FUBAR. We were happy to hear Arnold call it FUBAR as that sounds much cooler and more hard-core! Schwarzenegger adds plot details.
"It’s a tv series based on True Lies, Arnold admits. "So, I’m a secret agent, my family doesn’t know that I am a secret agent, but as the story develops, I don’t know that my own daughter, that I thought is a peace core worker overseas, is also actually a secret agent and she doesn’t know Im a secret agent and I don’t know that she is a secret agent. So, it’s kind of comedy and action all combined like True Lies.''
Lastly, Arnold gave an update on Twins 2.
"We had a little setback because the man that was suppose to direct it, who directed the first one, Twins, Ivan Reitman had passed away sadly to say. And so, you know now that we just wait a little bit until this whole thing cools down and then we're gonna readdress it. But that’s a project suppose to be filmed in October and so it could still be you know, but we just have to now look into a different director and just get into and to see if we are going to continue with this project.”
Special thanks to Bob Cicherillo and TheArnoldfan’s Shahi Sabzevari for bringing us this news!
