It was a fantastic weekend spent with John Milius, the fans, Arnold Schwarzenegger and many great cast members of the Terminator franchise at Silicon Valley Comic Con. The Terminator Reunion panel, which happened on Sunday, August 18th from 3:30-4:30pm, had many of our favorite actors from the film franchise including Michael Biehn (Reese), Jenette Goldstein (Janelle), Kristan Loken (The T-X), Danny Cooksey (Tim), Edward Furlong (John Connor) and Robert Patrick (T-1000). Arnold couldn’t stop in because the Con had him off on other signing and photo op events.
I want to thank Silicon Valley Comic Con for my awesome front row seats but when they opened up the mic to audience questions, I hustled over and I got to ask Edward Furlong the burning Terminator: Dark Fate question.
TheArnoldFans: Edward, I’m so excited about Terminator: Dark Fate and for you coming back. What can you reveal about your return and is this only going to be your CG likeness or will you, yourself (adult form) too, be in it?
Edward smiled back at me but confessed:
"I’m not allowed to say ANYTHING” um, but yeah, yeah man, I mean it’s a small role but it’s, you know, I’m in there, man! I’m in there.”
I figured Edward was probably under contract to not say anything but I tried and then he added a little more about how he felt on coming aboard Dark Fate.
“It was like a blessing man,” Eddie began. “I was very excited you know, like really uh, yeah I was trying to turn my life around at that point – so I mean it was uh, it was kinda a good call to get, you know? It kinda felt like a gift from all that you know, plus I was supposed to do the other Terminator but I done fucked that shit up, So I gotta tell you, I was proud. (for Dark Fate)"
Edward Furlong also made out with my T-800 endoskull! I didn’t ask him to attempt to French kiss my chrome Terminator head but like any great military leader, he took control and went for it! As for why the Terminator film stars are flipping the bird, that’s another story!
Another Edward Furlong Terminator: Dark Fate quote from the Con was:
"I’m glad to be back on it, I’m really really happy to be doing it.”
We’re thrilled you’re back too, Eddie. You were hilarious on the panel! You’re back, Eddie!
