I know, I know; it’s been many years now since Schwarzenegger first announced he’d ride again as Conan so I know many of you have serious doubts now on the likelihood that "The Legend of Conan” will ever be made. I’m also aware that Movieweb just wrote an article saying the project is dead but trust us, this is not true. The real story is I just spoke with Fredrik Malmberg, President & CEO Cabinet Entertainment and "The Legend of Conan” Producer, who assures TheArnoldFans that Conan is now in better hands than ever!
On April 6th, 2017, Malmberg stated: "We were very excited and spent years working with Chris Morgan to make Legend of Conan. Ultimately, the studio let the rights expire. The positive news is that Conan Properties now controls everything again, and are currently  producing both TV and Film with a lot more control than we had previously. Everybody wants The Legend of Conan to happen and it will.”
Even more satisfying, the Conan producer also tells us the Conan TV series will not be family-friendly nonsense. Malmberg tells TheArnoldFans it will be "A premium cable show for mature audiences.” We were also told that that Conan movies will tie into this TV series and will have video games and books! "We are forming a creative hub to coordinate all these various efforts with a cohesive creative direction." Malmberg concludes!

There’s currently a very popular Conan video game called Conan Exiles. Now it sounds like we might eventually get a video game staring Arnold Schwarzenegger! Imagine Arnold saying “CROM” with every sword-slashing game move!

Also this week, while Arnold Schwarzenegger was promoting his new movie “Aftermath” opening on Friday, he told Yahoo Movies that there are two really good Conan scripts!
"Two screenplays have been written, which means there are scripts that are available that are really good; they just have to be fine-tuned. As soon as they sort all that out, I think they can go and shoot a movie. I would love to do another one.”

According to editors at British newspaper The Times., Verhoeven says he wants to direct the next Conan. Verhoeven gets approached my many Conan fans to this day asking if he’ll direct. Funny thing considering it was TheArnoldFans.com who sat down with Verhoeven at a restaurant and informed the director all about the film and we told him he’d be perfect for the gig! Apparently our words really regenerated with the Total Recall director and our pitch to Verhoeven worked!
“If they asked me (to direct Conan), I’d certainly love to – let’s put it that way. “ Verhoeven tells TheArnoldFans. "But I don’t know what the script is. I don’t know what Arnold wants. I’m a big fan in fact of Conan. That’s a great movie and I found that the composer, Basil Poledouris, basically inspired many of my movies [the soundtracks] like Flesh and Blood, RoboCop, Starship Troopers and Total Recall. The score of Conan is great. The style of editing that Milius used was very beautiful, and Arnold does a great job. He was really the perfect choice.”
While we have no idea who will be officially chosen to direct these hard-core Conan cable TV and Conan film projects, we’re sure they’ll find the perfect person fitting to capture the John Milius fantastical Cimmerian world. Get ready for the greatest days of Arnold Schwarzenegger’s career when he’s back with wind in his hair, Atlantean sword in hand, crushing enemies, seeing them driven before him and…well, you know the rest! Hold the line Arnold’s army, Conan, our king, WILL ride again.
