Arnold fan Elliot Goodwin sent us information and photos of his Schwarzenegger boots from The Predator movie! Best of all, for the right price... they can be yours! Elliot tells us that he purchased the boots from Profiles in History about ten years ago and he's reselling them for roughly what he had paid. So if you have over $2,000.00, these Schwarzenegger boots can be yours!
"My family has owned shoe stores for over 65 years," says Elliot. "I started collecting shoes from celebrities and sports personalities in the late eighties. My collection grew. After a while they were exhibited in our stores and in galleries. They have been written up in Inc. Magazine, New York Post, and many other magazines, television shows and books."
Goodwin has a very large collection of celebrity shoes.
"The Arnold boots are one of my precious items along with a few such as Marilyn Monroe and Clark Gable. Unfortunately due to a divorce I have been in the process of selling items out of the collection. Some have sold to friends and interested parties, some to collectors. I have had these items for over 25 years and have never sold any until recently, therefore I consider myself a true collector. I am in hopes that I can find the same type of home for the shoes. For an example, I have golf shoes sign by President Gerald Ford."
Email Randy at TAFs for information to contact the seller of these boots. In addition to the shoes, he also has a very large Schwarzenegger painting which you can see below.
"I had shoes from each of the celebrities and I had na artist here in Dallas hand paint each piece to display with each piece of memorabilia in cases in a gallery. They were painted in 1999."
During the San Diego Comic Con, I was able to sit down with Joe Maddalena, the CEO of the Profiles in History auction house and the star of one of my favorite TV shows, Hollywood Treasures. I showed the certificate to the president of Profiles in History who told me the certificate looks legitimate from his business.
"In my office, I have the endoskeleton that I bought myself from the Stan Winston collection," a proud Maddalena tells TheArnoldFans.
"I was lucky because I was friends with Stan Winston when he was alive and so I started selling Stan's collection. So I've sold six or seven Terminators from 1, 2, 3 and 4. I've had different versions that were all built by Stan. I've had T-100s, T-800s, I mean I had everything... from endoskeleton heads, complete endoskeletons, costumes and the tanks. I've probably sold more Terminator items than anyone else in the world from Stan's archive."
*TheArnoldFans was asked to remove an exclusive comment Joe Maddalena gave us regarding a new TV series. Later we can tell you more when the announcement can be made official.
The next Profiles In History live auction will take place on Monday and Tuesday, July 30th - 31st, 2012 at 12:00 PM PDT. One of Joe's favorite things in the archive is the close-up endo arm, which is expected to sell for 20-30 thousand dollars. Check out the catalogue of Hollywood treasures at www.ProfilesinHistory.com where you will find loads of Terminator props and even a Raw Deal painting! See many of the items below.
